Did you ever wonder where they get the long, soft feathers used for tying dry flies? The growers of those feathers have been working for literally decades to perfect the genetic qualities that make feathers suitable for fly tying. They have also kept these genetics private to reduce the amount of competition in the business.

We obtained some of these birds and have started breeding them for fun. The males are gorgeous birds, as you can see. The hens are not great layers, being more of a game fowl than a laying breed.
